OHFL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A. No, OHFL relies on volunteers. However, the organization does have expenses and while there is no requirement or obligation to pay, we appreciate any tax deductible donations that the senior or the family feels comfortable in giving to the organization.
A. OHFL has many types of volunteer opportunities. These include driving seniors to their appointments, providing Friendly Calls or Friendly Visits or helping with administrative tasks. We also need volunteers with a variety of professional skills (legal, fundraising, advertising, financial management) and those interested in becoming board members.
A. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old to provide our direct services. However, other opportunities to serve the organization may be available. For example, OHFL works in partnership with the Olney Library to offer programs geared toward seniors. Youth volunteers may be needed for these programs. Please call us at 301-446-2512.
A. Yes, we are happy to have those residing outside of our area join with us as a volunteers.
